Tailored Force Revision: FAQ

TIPS

During the TFR process, the TFR Team has discovered three important tips that will be helpful for you to know while importing your TFR.

  1. Before TFR, many Workcenter Supervisors using SKED 3.1 preferred to import the FR data manually which allowed them to select the MRC’s that apply to their workcenter. This was especially helpful for smaller workcenters. Because TFR automates a lot of the FR process, the FR data is imported from a Centralized Data Source which applies all MRC’s listed on the MIP. Because of this, and based on whether a manual revision was previously performed on your workcenter, you may see some differences in the Applied LOEP and SKED Revision Editor.
  2.

  3. In SKED 3.2 there is a similar situation. In prior versions of SKED 3.2 Workcenter Supervisors could delete an MRC during the FR process rather than just make it inactive. As a result, inconsistencies can occur between the Applied LOEP and SKED 3.2 Revision Editor.
  4.

  5. The TFR Team received your SKED data some time ago and you may have changed your data by conducting a Revision since your data was received. Therefore, it is possible you may see some differences in the Applied LOEP and SKED Revision Editor. If you see any inconsistencies between the Applied LOEP, LOEP and SKED Revision Editor, review any recent revisions and verify if the MIP or MRC in question was modified. Please keep in mind any recent changes to SKED while implementing TFR and refer to FAQ’s provided for more information. The TFR process didn’t really save me that much time during the first implementation. Am I doing something wrong?
Getting familiar with a new process certainly can add some time to the FR the first time the TFR is used for your workcenter. The TFR implementation process will get easier at each FR. The data will become more accurate and you will become more comfortable with the new processes.
Are my MRCs tailored to my workcenter?
No. If your MRC steps have line-outs, you need to verify that changes to the MRC did not impact your reason. Then, make additional line-outs to the MRC as necessary. If you are using SKED 3.2 and have your line-outs in the system, these will be included automatically in future TFRs.
In regard to MIP line-outs, what does “Previously lined out by Workcenter” mean?
In regard to MIP line-outs, what does “Scheduling Aid # ______” mean?

This is used when the MRC was previously lined out on your schedule and either no significant document changes have occurred or the TFR Team could not determine why an MRC was not on the schedule after reading the MIP scheduling aid or configuration data. When you see this, research to determine if the MRC is applicable and then make the correct annotation.
Do line-outs still require initials?
Yes, this requirement remains the same.
What if the line-out annotation is incorrect?
Simply line-out the pre-printed annotation on the MIP and provide the correct reason.
What should I do if the MIP line-out does not apply to my workcenter?
In some cases, you can correct this in the SKED Revision Editor by using the Activate MRC or Delete MRC tool. If you are adding an MRC back to your schedule, you will need to print a new MIP and make manual line-outs. If you are deleting an MRC from your schedule, you can line-out that MRC on a tailored MIP and make a line-out annotation.
Why did the TFR process remove a MIP from my LOEP?
The TFR process did not remove MIPs from any workcenters’ LOEP. If a MIP was removed from your LOEP it was done by the TYCOM and NSLC during the FR process. If you think the MIP should be back on your LOEP, follow normal Feedback Report procedures to add the MIP back to your LOEP. Your 3MC will be able to assist you.
As a 3MC, how can I get copies of all workcenter Applied LEOP Reports?
All workcenter Applied LOEP Reports are located on the TFR DVD that you received with your TFR Package.
In SKED 3.1, should I check the “Do not include previously rejected MRC’s” block? After importing the TFR, why do these checks show up as new?
Check the box if you have a large workcenter. This will help avoid potential errors in the process. Otherwise, leave blank. If you check the box labeled “Do not include previously rejected MRC’s” some of the MRCs may show as new or deleted even though you rejected those MRCs in previous revisions.
