SKED 3.1: Troubleshooting
I am a SKED 3.1 Server Mode user and receive a Transaction Log full error. How do I correct this?

This error is being produced because one or all of the Transaction logs for the SKED31, SKED31archive, SKED31XML, and SKED31PMSDB databases are full. During the install of SKED 3.1 Server Mode, a Maintenance Plan for these databases was developed. The Maintenance Plan automatically backs up these databases and clears the transaction logs. Some things that prevent this from occurring is that the SQL Server or the SQL Server Agent are not running, the location that the backups are being sent to is full and doesn’t allow the backup process to run properly.
To determine if SQL Server or SQL Server Agent is running, follow these procedures:
The next step is to perform a manual backup of the SKED 31, SKED 31archive, Sked31xml, and SKED31PMSDB databases. This will get SKED back up and running more quickly than waiting for the next time the Maintenance Plan kicks off a backup. It will also clear all the transaction logs.
Perform a Manual Backup
To determine if SQL Server or SQL Server Agent is running, follow these procedures:
- On NAVSEA Application Server in the service tray there should be an ICON labeled (servername)-MSSQL Server. Right-click this icon and click Open SQL Server Service Manager. The SQL Server Service Manager dialog box appears.
- The Server name should be the same as the server SQL for SKED 3.1 is installed on. In the Services box highlight MSSQL Server. The server icon should have a green arrow displayed, and a check-mark in the Auto-start service when OS starts box. If not, click Start/Continue and place a check mark next to the Auto-start box.
- In the Services drop down menu, highlight SQL Server Agent. The server icon should have a green arrow displayed, and a check mark in the Auto-start service when OS starts box. If not click Start/Continue and place a check-mark next to the Auto-start box.
- Close the dialog box. The MSSQL Server Icon in the service tray will have a green arrow displayed.

In Network Mode, when I run Sked 3.1 for the first time, I get one of the following errors – “File Path Access” or “Sked 3.1 cannot open the file ………sked3db.dat.”

Make sure the directory on the network where the Network Installation was installed is SHARED. If you are using Windows 2000, make sure the SHARE permissions is “Full Control”, as the default is set to "Read Only"
"Windows 98 Setup is running and must be closed before continuing."

Choose IGNORE and the SKED 3.1 Installation will continue properly.
I get the following error when installing SKED 3.1 on the Server: "You must close the program 'OMMS30Interface"" prior to continuing."

You must close the OMMS30Interface program. To do this, follow these procedures:
- Press CTRL+ALT+DEL on your keyboard.
- Click Task Manager.
- On the Applications tab, select the OMMS30Interface application
- Click End Task.
- Close Task Manager and proceed with the SKED 3.1 installation.
I get an error message when I open the Help file. How do I get this to work?

This is caused because your display settings are set to only 16 colors. You must set your display colors to be at least 256. To do this, follow these procedures:
- Right-click the Desktop and click Properties. The Display Properties dialog box appears.
- Click the Settings tab.
- From the Color drop-down menu, select at least 256 colors.
- Click OK. A dialog box will appear asking you if you wish to keep these new settings.
- Click Yes.
I just loaded FR2-10 into SKED and when I open my workcenter for the first time, it hangs up when it gets to the "Reading Workcenter, Updating SPMIG Info (This may take a few minutes)" portion and hasn't moved in 5 minutes. What do I do?

You must replace the spmig.mdb file that is located in your Global Data Path. To do this, follow these steps:
- Launch Internet Explorer and go to www.antechsystems.com/pmsviewer.htm and download the latest spmig.mdb file and save it to a temporary location.
- Launch SKED 3.1 and go to the Help menu, About.
- Write down the information provided in the Global Data Path statement, i.e. S:command namesked 3.1.
- Exit SKED.
- Open Windows Explorer and browse to the Global Data Path folder and locate the spmig.mdb and rename it to spmig.old.
- Browse to the spmig.mdb file you just downloaded, and copy that file into your Global Data Path folder.
- Launch SKED and open your workcenter.
I get the following error when running SKED 3.1: "Bad File Name or Number"

Ensure that the shared directory is shared with FULL permissions and not just "Read Only." To do this, follow these procedures:
- Open Windows Explorer and browse to the shared directory.
- Right-click the shared directory and click Properties.
- Click the Sharing tab to view the permissions.
- Click Full Control in the Allow column so that a check mark appears.
- Click OK.
